  September Home & School Minutes

St. John the Baptist Home and School Organization supports the school program by working with the parish to bring school, home, and church together. Through fund raising, teacher recognition, support, and school improvements, the organization works to promote a connection from home to school. Composed of parent volunteers, it offers additional means for parental involvement in their child's education. Limited but successful fund raisers include the cheese and candy sale in time for Christmas; the pancake breakfast to help celebrate Catholic schools week; the rummage sale in spring; and the ongoing sale of $crip certificates.

The monies raised during these events have helped finance the building of new playground equipment, the development of the library with technological advances, as well as working to build a state-of -the-art computer lab. Money is also set aside for our endowment fund.

Active parental support is the key for the success of Home and School. It is a great chance to get to know other families and share the values of Catholic education. Home and School sponsors several activities throughout the year, including all-family entertainment during Catholic Schools week. Meetings are held as needed throughout the year, respecting the family and the busy schedules of all involved.

Knowing the importance of our children's education by choosing St. John the Baptist School supports Home and School in continuing to offer an education based on strong moral values, self-respect and respect for others, love of God and high educational standards.
