The music ministry here at St. John's embraces a post-Vatican II approach. The main emphasis of this ministry is placed on congregational participation. Leading a singing assembly is accomplished by the use of choirs, cantors and instruments. All are warmly welcomed to join and no auditions are necessary.

The music that is used for all choirs is selected on the basis of appropriateness for specific liturgies as well as ability to enhance congregational participation. Music is selected from throughout all periods in our Catholic musical heritage, from plainsong to the most recent Catholic compositions.
